The hormonal changes that men and women experience can result in a change in body shape, and can make it easier to gain weight, especially around your stomach, and make it harder to lose. 

There are lifestyle enhancements that can also help, if you feel able.

  • Build regular, gentle exercise into your daily routine such as walking, yoga, swimming and Pilates
  • Explore phytohormones (plant hormones) as part of your meals - for example, they are prevalent in oats and chickpeas
  • Drink plenty of water and try to avoid too much refined sugar or alcohol. We are not the alcohol and sugar police, we have only one rule, if you have it, enjoy it 
  • Incorporate strength training into your fitness routine to help manage weight and support overall health including bone density.

 

Find acupressure point Stomach 36 on each leg. Apply pressure to each point for 5 minutes, or as long as you are able. Use circular clockwise motions as you apply pressure.

 

Stomach 36 is an acupressure point said to regulate digestion.
